May 13, 2023, Chris is organizing a Hot Tips for Low Flutes workshop online with members of the Board of the International Low Flutes Society (ILFS)! Her five-minute topic is Becoming Friends with Your Footjoint. Click here for information.

May 18-21 Chris is teaching an Alto and Bass Flute Retreat in the Chicago area May 18-21. See the Chicago Retreat tab for more information and a registration form.

In June date TBD – Mariana Gariazzo and Chris are hosting an online low flutes play-along as part of a workshop series organized by the International Low Flutes Society (ILFS). Click here for information.

August 3-6. Chris will be crazed at the NFA Convention in Phoenix. She is conducting several pieces, including the premier of  Usonia by Jonathan with 200 flutists plus percussion on the closing Sunday concert. She is playing her composition Alto a la Mode, conducting a few pieces and playing in the premier of Nicole Chamberlain’s Beyond the Pale in a low flutes chamber recital. She is playing and conducting in what we hope to become an on-going professional low flutes choir event at NFA conventions and also giving a workshop on Improving Breath Control. NFA Convention info.

September 16th. Chris will be helping to host an online Meet the Composer event with moderator Daniel Dorff, VP of Publications at Theodore Presser Publishers. Four composers of music for low flutes will be interviewed and their music featured. This is part of the workshop series organized by the ILFS. Click here for information.

October 7th. A workshop titled Alternate Fingerings for Low Flutes will feature ILFS Board members Ece Karsal, Mariana Gariazzo and Paige Dashner Long  sharing their favorite alternate fingerings for alto, bass and contrabass. Chris will be there. Click here for information.
